Through its Department of Urban and Economic Development and in partnership with the Mohawk Valley Health Systems (MVHS), the City of Utica is seeking proposals from qualified and knowledgeable consultant teams to guide the development of a collaborative, neighborhood-based re-use master plan for MVHS existing St. Elizabeth Medical Campus in the south Utica neighborhood. The successful consultant team shall have considerable experience in public participation and facilitation, community design/visioning, historic preservation, economic development, land use planning and zoning. Scheduled to be largely vacated and closed in late 2023 when the newly constructed Wynn Hospital opens in downtown Utica, the St. Elizabeth Medical Campus occupies 21 acres in one of the City most stable and affluent neighborhoods. Located along the Genesee Street mixed-use corridor and surrounded by single-family detached dwellings, it is imperative that the proposed plan reflect and complement the context in which the site is located. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
