Bullpen areas to be fenced in. 2. Strip field of existing topsoil, vegetation, and clay. Remove and discard off site. 3. Install Concrete backstop wall with measurements as dictated by drawing 1. 4. Install backstop netting to concrete wall and black vinyl fencing. 5. Install safety netting in front of dugouts according to drawing 2 6. Install warning track from 1st base dugout to 3rd base dugout behind home plate as in drawing 3. Warning track will extend 15' from dugout/fence into playing field. Warning track material should be granite M10's or washed granite sand and be 2" deep. 7. Elevations should be shot to determine best grading plan to allow maximum field drainage. Consideration should be given to maximize infield/infield clay areas drainage. Build up of the infield area is probable. Goal of grading elevations is to adapt design to the site rather than allow design to be forced upon the site. 8. Sub grade is to be laser graded to accomplish goals of maximum surface drainage. 9. Apply a minimum of 4" of athletic sand to sub grade, more than 4" is allowed to provide final grade goals of maximum surface drainage. Athletic sand should be analyzed by a reputable soil testing lab to determine its suitability for use as an athletic field cap. Perk rate when field is grown in should be approximately 10" gph. A PH test must be done and if needed, lime must be added to bring the PH level up to a suitable level for growing turf. 10. Install new clay to infield area, Homeplate area, and pitcher's mound according to drawing 4. Infield clay should contain no rocks and have an approximate sand/clay mix of 70/30. 11. Laser grade sand/clay areas to final grade 12. Abandon existing irrigation, remove existing valves, and valve boxes and discard. 13. Install new irrigation system. Drawing 5 represents a recommendation for the new system. Installer will need to field measure and ensure head-to-head coverage. New system will require a backflow device be installed to code. Hunter or Nelson valves and Hunter I20 or I40 heads should be used. A 3" main line looped around the perimeter of the field should be used to supply the lateral lines. 2" valves should be used unless design dictates a different size is warranted. Thin wall pipe is acceptable for laterals, stepping down pipe size is acceptable between heads. Swing joints are mandated to connect heads to lateral lines. The number of heads used for each Zone should not exceed 80% of amount of water available from the system. Two 1 1/2" quick couplers should be installed as per Drawing 5. Each quick coupler should have a shut off valve installed near the connection point to the main line. All irrigation lines will be mechanically tamped to grade. One or two zones should be installed around the perimeter of the infield clay with the purpose of wetting all the infield clay. Smaller heads such as the Hunter PGP can be used for these zones. 14. Four hose bibs should be provided, one outside each dugout and one by each bullpen. 15. Install home plate and base sleeves. Batter boxes and catchers' box shall contain minimum of 3" of high-density clay such as Mar mound clay. 16. Build Mound to college specs. Mound will have a 3x5 table consisting of either Mound bricks or mound high density clay such as Mar-Mound clay. The mound clay should also be installed 6" in front of pitching rubber and in Landing areas as shown in Drawing 6. All areas containing high density clay should be 4" deep except for the table which can be 2" deep. 17. Build bullpen area on each the 1st base side and 3rd base side of the field. Each bullpen area will contain one mound. 18. Tif Tuff sod will be used to sod all grass areas. Care to provide water during installation process to minimize turf stress. All turf areas will be rolled. Topdressing will be provided by contractor withing 90 days of installation date. 19.
