Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Wheeling, Illinois. Working plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
This program provides for the installation of new public sidewalks to improve the transportation network of the Village by providing alternate modes of transit, thereby decreasing reliance on the automobile. Walks are planned for construction in areas that contain gaps in the existing sidewalk network. Areas certain to benefit from future development are not considered for new sidewalks under this program. The area selected is along Milwaukee Avenue, approximately 300 feet south of Prestwick Lane (north) to Sumac Road (south) and includes obtaining easements from certain properties. This project is included in the city’s 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of June 30, 2025, contractor has been selected. Tentative start date mid-summer 2025 with completion tentatively October 1, 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
