Due to COVID-19, all tender openings will be conducted in private in order to ensure compliance to the social distancing measures the provincial health authority has implemented. Tenders can still be mailed, couriered, or dropped off at the main entrance of the building (Nelson Office ONLY). This contract is with BC Timber Sales in the Kootenay Business area and consists of the Contractor to provide planting implementation services and Silviculture Surveys for BCTS East Kootenay Field Unit's 2023 planting season. Planting operations are expected to commence during mid-late April 2023 and be continuous to mid-late June 2023. Planting units are distributed throughout the field unit ranging along the following drainages: Moyie, Semlin, Rocky, Perry, Mark creek, Lavington, Moscow, Kootenay Eastside, Kootenay, Toby, Kindersley. One Planting unit is distributed south of East Kootenay Field Unit operating area in drainage: Englishman. See contract and schedules for further information. Deadline for receiving questions is 12:00 pm on February 14, 2023. In the subject line of the e-mail, quote "Questions Regarding IM24TFH005". Questions should be as specific as possible. If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by 4:00 pm on February 16, 2023. Tender submissions must be submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the tender package. The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022. Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations. These documents are posted on our external EMS/SFM website at BC Timber Sales - Business Area Environmental Management System (EMS) and Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) - Province of British Columbia As a condition of finalizing any service contracts with the Province, including service contracts arising from procurement processes, those contracts will require that all contractors and their personnel and any subcontractors and their personnel who will access BC government workplaces be fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in Canada, subject to any authorized exemptions. Such contracts will contain associated provisions required by and satisfactory to the Province regarding the foregoing, which may include provisions regarding mitigation measures for exempt personnel, compliance, enforcement, and the use of an attestation certifying compliance or presentation of a BC Vaccine Card by personnel.
