Site work and paving for a road / highway in Vacaville, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The estimated cost of the contract work (Mix Canyon Road and gates Canyon Road) is $1,300,000. The Force Account personnel rates will have a maximum contract amount of $300,000. Mix Canyon Road has experienced a downslope slip at 1.2 miles west of Pleasants Valley Road. The road is in danger of significant slope failure. Solano County is requesting bids to remove the slip debris from the affected area, excavate a footing to solid material, install an aggregate sub base footing, install an interlocking block gravity retaining wall (agency furnished material), backfill with 2-sack slurry cement, and perform miscellaneous roadway restoration work. Gates Canyon Road has experienced a downslope slip at 2.5 miles west of Pleasants Valley Road. The road has experienced major distresses and is not safe for traffic. Solano County is requesting bids to remove the slip debris from the area, excavate a footing to solid material, install a concrete foundation, install an interlocking block gravity retaining wall (agency furnished material), backfill with material onsite and geotechnical subsurface reinforcement, install aggregate backfill with a PVC subsurface drain, and perform miscellaneous roadway restoration work. Additional, Force Account work is required to remove mud, dirt, rocks, small brush, trees, other debris and some other minor roadway repairs. The Contractor is required to provide personnel, equipment and materials to complete the repairs. Debris will be removed on Pleasants Valley Road at Putah Creek, and a roadway repair will be conducted at the intersection of Bunker Station Road and Bartlett Road. The Contractor is encouraged to complete both sites simultaneously, but the Mix Canyon Road repair is to be prioritized to be completed first. Additional, Force Account work is required to remove mud, dirt, rocks, small brush, trees, other debris and some other minor roadway repairs. The Contractor is required to provide personnel, equipment and materials to complete the repairs. Debris will be removed on Pleasants Valley Road at Putah Creek, and a roadway repair will be conducted at the intersection of Bunker Station Road and Bartlett Road. The Contractor will have 30 working days to complete the slip repairs on Mix Canyon and Gates Canyon Roads. The project will utilize the Caltrans 7 Day Construction Workday Calendar. No time adjustments will be made due to weather. Time is of the essence for this Contract. The contract shall be executed by the successful bidder and shall be returned to Solano County so that it is received within 2 business days, including Saturdays, Sundays after the successful bidder has received the contract for execution. The Contractor shall pay to the County of Solano the sum of $3,500 per day, for each and every calendar day's delay in finishing the work in excess of the number of working days prescribed above. The estimated cost of the contract work (Mix Canyon Road and Gates Canyon Road) is $1,300,000. The Force Account personnel rates will have a maximum contract amount of $300,000. There is no DBE requirement for this project. To comply with State and local guidelines regarding COVID-19, Solano County will be instituting the following changes. Bids will be reviewed to determine the most responsive and responsible low bidder. A Bid Bond is required for the project. No performance or payment bonds are required. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Contractor shall possess a valid business license. Prevailing wages are required on this contract. The Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations determines the general prevailing wage rates. Obtain the wage rates at the DIR portal or from the Department's Labor Compliance Office of the district in which the work is located.
