Site work and paving for a road / highway in North Waltham, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
A 5% Bid Bond or Certified Check must accompany each bid submitted and made payable to, and become the property of the City of Waltham, if the successful bidder refuses or neglects to comply with the terms of the Contract. Only contractors prequalified by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) are eligible to bid on this contract. MassDOT will provide a list of Prequalified Construction Contractors to the City of Waltham. Bidders will be verified at time of Bid Opening. The successful bidder will be required to provide a Certificate of Insurance demonstrating current coverage of the type and amounts set forth in the Project Manual. The successful bidder will be required to furnish both a Labor and Materials Payment Bond in the amount of 50% of the contract total. Bids shall be made on the basis of the Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries, Pursuant to the Provisions of Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D inclusive of Massachusetts General Laws, a copy of which is attached to and is made a part of the Contract. Time is of the essence in the performance of the work of this contract. See General Conditions #20. EXCEPTION OR ALTERNATES TO SPECIFICATIONS, TERMS OF SALE, AND DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE, MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE BID PRIOR TO OPENING DATE.
