As of June 8, 2023, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the schematic design phase. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, it is anticipated construction will start early 2026. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The purpose of this project is to widen CTH V from Snowy Owl. The existing pavement is 2 11 ft lanes with 4 ft gravel shoulders. The deteriorating pavement can no longer be maintained with preservation practices. The wheels paths are showing significant deterioration and the edges are raveling due to the large truck and farm equipment traffic. Gravel shoulders are requiring extra attention from maintenance crews as they continue to be lost due to the truck and farm equipment traffic. This project is federally funded through the WisDOT Surface Transportation Program - Rural. A. The scope of this project includes both preliminary and final design of CTH V. B. The new typical section is proposed to be two 11 ft lanes with 4 ft paved shoulders and 2 ft gravel shoulders. C. Field survey, soil borings, geotechnical report, and the pavement design report are required. D. The consultant shall be responsible for all elements of the environmental process, including but not limited to: Agricultural Impact Notice, Wetland Investigations, Section 4(f), Section 6(f), Historic and Archeological surveys, and the WisDOT required environment document. E. Existing culverts will be hydraulically sized using TR-55 methodology. F. All intersections will be brought up to current standards and shall accommodate bicycle traffic. G. There are anticipated R/W acquisitions as part of this project. All R/W acquisitions will be the responsibility of the selected consultant. H. The construction staging shall accommodate 1 lane of traffic under a flagging operation for the majority of the construction. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
