Contractors are responsible for obtaining appropriate permits to complete this project. The scope of work, and forms for bid, may be obtained via through email at tsmith@smithtec.org. Quotes marked "Pig Barn Demolition" must be submitted to the Crystal Fairman at the Business office, Smith Vocational High School, 80 Locust Street, Northampton, MA 01060 by August 24, 2022, 1 PM. All bid forms submitted must be signed and completed to be considered. 1. The bidder whose quote is accepted will be notified within three days of the opening date. 2. The work of this Contract shall commence within seven working days from the date the agreement is signed and shall be substantially completed to the satisfaction of the owner within 5 working days from the start date of work. 3. This is a prevailing wage project as required by M.G.L. c. 149. The prevailing wage schedule is available. 4. The approximate area to be demolished is 2,000 sq. ft., consisting of wood framed walls and concrete foundation and slab construction. 7. There is also an additional 40" of retaining wall and approximately 500 square feet of additional slab. 8. Smith Vocational High School will provide a pre-demolition asbestos survey. Any asbestos abatement, demolition or removal of asbestos containing material will be the reasonability of Smith Vocational high school. 9. The contractor must supply a certificate for demolition general liability insurance. 10. Contractor must leave the site rough graded with onsite soil. 11. Use water as dust control 12.
