This is an invitation to submit a sealed bid for the furnishing of supplies, equipment and/or services subject to the terms and conditions and special instruction of this bid. This project is being supported, in whole or in part, by federal award number SLRFP1985 awarded to the Town of Brookhaven by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The Contractor shall make, and document, all good faith efforts made to achieve the MWBE goal. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, appurtenances and all services necessary to perform all Work as required by the Drawings and specifications or as required by the Town, at the lump sum or unit prices for the items listed herein. This work shall consist of the milling, shaping and removal of portions of existing pavement surfaces by a cold milling process, utilizing equipment and procedures meeting the requirements in this specification. All material removed during this milling process, including any foreign debris existing within or on the pavement, shall be disposed of by the Contractor. Under this item the Contractor shall install the specified backboard or an approved equal where shown on the plans or ordered by the Engineer. The work covered by this item consists of furnishing and sowing seed on areas shown on the plans and caring for the work as specified. The work may also include furnishing and incorporating soil amendments, lime, fertilizers and insecticides, preparing ground surfaces for seeding and furnishing mulch and mulching, as specified. A. The work to be performed under this Contract shall include all labor, materials, equipment, services and incidentals required to perform the proposed construction as indicated in the Specifications, shown on the Contract Drawings and/or as approved by the Town. B. In general, the work shall include but not be limited to the following: o Milling of Asphalt o Asphalt Pavement o Acrylic Surfacing o Restoration o Court Striping o Backboard Installation o Paining of Existing Basketball Poles C. Without restricting the generality of the foregoing and for the convenience of each Contractor, the items of work are specified under the Standard Divisions of the Construction Specifications Institute. Work shall include but not be limited to the following: A. Temporary Utilities - Sanitaryfacilities. B. Temporary Controls - Barriers, enclosures and fencing, protection of the Work, and water control. The Town Board reserves the right to award this Contract to the lowest qualified bidder and to reject and declare invalid any or all bids deemed not in the best interest of the Owner. In awarding this Contract, the Town is not bound by the quantities stated in the Bid Form. It is emphasized that the quantities are approximations only. No guarantee is made for any quantities stated nor is a guarantee made for the total bid or alternate total bid. Such total bid or alternate total bid are for the purpose of guidance in awarding the Contract only. Payment shall be on the basis of actual work done at the unit prices quoted. The Town reserves the right to bid independently and award quantities that are equal to or greater than fifty (50%) percent of the approved annual expenditure for the contracted work.
