The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to establish a competitive contract for Electrical Maintenance and Installation work based on labor costs and parts mark-up for Plano Independent School District (the District) on an "As Needed" basis. This is a District wide proposal, available for usage by several departments. When used by Facility Services, the award vendor shall use the attached Vendor Proposal form for each project. All contractors supplying prices shall be established contractors whose primary business is Electrical Maintenance/Repair contracting. Contractors will use the highest quality of installation techniques, meet all requirements of State, meet all National Electrical codes and comply with the Cities of Allen, Plano, Richardson, Murphy, Parker and Dallas codes. All contractors agree to provide service as soon as possible upon receipt of a purchase order. In the event the awarded contractor is unable to provide services during the time frame required by the District, the District has the right to use the next lowest bidder that can meet the response time. The estimated expenditure for this contract is approximately $700,000 per year. However, this estimate should not be construed to be a guarantee of either minimum or maximum since usage is dependent upon actual needs and available funding. This estimate may be exceeded by 25% annually. It is the responsibility of the awarded vendor to provide the District with a product and service that achieves the standards set forth herein. Any items or services not specifically mentioned in this document which is required to provide the product and/or service at the standard set forth will be the responsibility of the Contractor at no additional cost to the District. It is the responsibility of the successful proposer to meet the City Code and Construction Requirements of the six (6) six municipalities located within the District's boundaries. This proposal will be firm for two (2) years from date of award, with the option to be renewed for three (3) additional years, in one (1) year increments, provided all prices remain firm and both parties agree. Option to extend if needed- Plano ISD has the option to extend this RFP at the end of the performance period for up to 120 days if determined to be in the best interest of the district to ensure availability of products and/or services.
