Nevada County Office of Emergency Services is inviting proposals from qualified firms or individuals to update the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP). Nevada County seeks a qualified firm (Proposer) with the experience, expertise, and qualifications to lead the LHMP Update. The LHMP Update will reduce or prevent long-term risk to people and property in Nevada County resulting from a multitude of hazards by forming a long-term strategy to reduce disaster losses and break the cycle of disaster damage, reconstruction, and repeated damage. The County seeks to partner with the selected vendor to provide the associated professional services to complete the LHMP Update, including public outreach, agency coordination, hazard analysis, mitigation strategies, goal setting, benefit-cost analysis, activities review, draft and final plan, and plan adoption. County of Nevada departments including Nevada County Office of Emergency Services, Environmental Health, Public Health, Planning, and Public Works are integral stakeholders, as are other relevant agencies and leaders including City of Nevada City, City of Grass Valley, Town of Truckee, Nevada Irrigation District, Fire Safe Council of Nevada County, Truckee/Donner Public Utility District, and Washington Water District. Interested firms will have an opportunity to submit questions regarding the requirements outlined in this RFP. While attendance is not mandatory, interested proposers are highly encouraged to attend. In order to make the meeting more effective for all participants, attendees should read this document thoroughly prior to the meeting. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time. As of January 31, 2023, the due date and time has been confirmed with the owner.
