Site work and paving for a civil project in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Description: Contract No. 3 - Pulverizing of approximately 20,000 sq. yd. of asphalt pavement, existing culvert removal, addition of 4-inches of gravel base course, fine grading, HMA asphalt paving, 2-foot gravel shoulders, 2-foot earth shoulders, and traffic control. The 2023 South Shore Road Reconstruction is a Town Road Improvement Supplemental (TRIS) project. The TRIS is a component of the Local Roads Improvement Program (LRIP). Additional Description: There is no prevailing wage determination for this project. Bids must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check or bid bond equal to five percent of the maximum bid price, payable to the Owner as a guaranty that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute the Contract Documents and furnish the required contract security. If the Successful Bidder fails to execute the Contract Documents and provide the required contract security within 15 days after the Notice of Award, the Owner may annul the Notice of Award and the Bid Security will be forfeited. Bids may not be withdrawn within 60 days after the date of the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, and to award the Contract to the Bidder, who in the judgment of the Owner, will best serve the interest of the Owner. Published by the authority of the Town Board of Supervisors. SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION - June 7, 2024 FINAL COMPLETION - June 28, 2024 / August 15, 2024. Contract 3 - South Shore Road Reconditioning Site preparation o Coordinate underground and overhead utility relocation with the Utility Owners. o Coordinate vehicle and postal access to private properties during construction. Grading and Road Construction o Install erosion control measures - storm culvert protection, and silt fence if needed. o Install traffic control signage. o Relocate existing mailboxes as needed. o Pulverize the existing asphalt road. o Remove and dispose of existing 6-inch CMP culvert. o Undercut roadway as needed, inspect the subbase for soft and compromised areas. Coordinate with Engineer before using Supplemental Base Course Bid Item. o Excavation below subgrade/breaker run as needed to minimize impact to existing driveways. o Install 4" crushed aggregate base course. o Finish base course grading. o Install 1 3/4 " binder course layer of asphalt pavement. o Install 1 3/4 " surface course layer of asphalt pavement. o Regrade existing asphalt and gravel driveways to match new road surface. o Install 2 1/2 " layer of asphalt pavement on existing asphalt driveways. o Construct 2' wide gravel shoulder on both sides of South Shore Road. o Construct 2' wide earth shoulder on both sides of South Shore Road gravel shoulders. Restoration o Restore driveways so they match new final road grade. o Seed and mulch any remaining disturbed areas.
