The Summerland Wastewater Treatment Plant ('WWTP") is located at 7630 Dunn Road. In 2017, the sand filter in the old Filter Building was decommissioned and replaced with a new cloth disk filter system adjacent to it. Because the old sand filter area is no longer being used, the District would like to fill this void and cover it with a concrete slab, flush with the existing floor, to allow for storage of materials and equipment. The overall objective of this project is to renovate the old Filter Building so that it can be used to store equipment and materials, in accordance with the structural drawings provided as Appendix D - Drawings (the "Drawings"). The Contractor will fill or seal identified conduits in concrete walls and build two concrete walls as identified in the Drawings. The Contractor will then place and compact the appropriate gravel material and pour a concrete slab flush with the existing floor. Temporary stairs are in place to eliminate the confined space hazard in these spaces and the ceramic filter and sand will remain in place. This floor area will be used to support the storage of equipment and materials. The Base Bid Deliverables include, but are not limited to: 1. Build two concrete walls as identified in the Drawings: New concrete wall on west end of influent channel. New concrete wall on east end of effluent channel. 2. Fill identified conduits in concrete walls as per Drawings. 3. Backfill with appropriate material and compact as Drawings. 4. Pour structural concrete slab per Drawings. 5. Clean up of site upon completion, including pressure washing ceiling, walls, and floor. 6. All electrical and mechanical equipment (e.g. Chem-Scan, HVAC, etc.) and other sensitive areas to be sealed off during construction and for pressure washing, as noted in Appendix E - Photos. Areas around the sensitive equipment to be cleaned by hand.
