As of May 24, 2023, the project has not been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded by July, 2023. For Rehabilitation of Bridge No. AA-3001 Magothy Bridge Road over Magothy River Solicitation :CAP23000184 The Work includes the following major items: (a) Removal of existing superstructure, including existing girders, in three stages in order to accommodate MOT. (b) Removal of existing bearings and bearing pedestals at all piers and abutments. (c) Removal of all four existing wing walls. (d) Widening of both abutments and both piersto the north and south. There will be new steel pipe piles driven at both abutments and both piers to support the widening. (e) Construction of four new wing walls. (f) Construction of a steel beam superstructure with a reinforced concrete deck, sidewalk, parapets, and chainlink fences. New bearing pads and bearings will be placed to accommodate new location of beams. (g) Removal of existing 16 inch water line and placement of new 16 inch water line. (h) Removal of steel jackets on existing piers and replacement with full height fiberglass jackets. (i) Construction of roadway embankments,superpave asphalt approach roadways,sidewalks, curbs and gutters, F-Shape barrier, pavement markings, etc. (j) Construction of roadside ditches, inlets, pipes, manholes and outfalls for stormwater collection and conveyance. (k) Construction of a sand filter to accomodate stormwater management. (l) Installation of metal traffic barriers complete with end treatments and anchorages to the structure. (m) Install new weather sensors in bridge deck and in roadway. The cost range for the Project is: $2,500,000 to $5,000,000.
