Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Walnut Creek, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The Project includes, but is not limited to, performing the following Work: o Traffic Control o Concrete Removal o Tree Removal o Drainage Improvements o Concrete Curb, Gutter, Sidewalk, Driveways, and Curb Ramps. o Base Repairs o Pavement Reconstruction o Cold Plane / Milling Asphalt Concrete Pavement of 0.65' (8") o Hot Mix Asphalt Type A Paving (0.65'(8 inches), 3 lifts) o Utility Adjustment o Traffic Striping and Markings o Signage o Electrical (Traffic Signal Improvement) This Project is on the following streets in the City of Walnut Creek: South Main Street between Newell Avenue and Interstate 680 off ramp. Project is adjacent to Kaiser Hospital and Las Lomas High School. No bids will be received unless made on the Bid Proposal and Schedule form provided in the Project Manual. TIME FOR BEGINNING AND COMPLETION OF WORK: The Contractor shall begin Work no later than five Working days after the beginning date specified in the Notice to Proceed (which may be hand delivered or sent by email). The Contractor shall complete all the Work on the Project within 60 working days after the beginning date specified in the Notice to Proceed. In accordance with the Labor Code Sections 1771 and 1773.2, the City Council of the City of Walnut Creek has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages applicable to this Work. These rates are on file in the Public Works Department. No contractor or subcontractor shall be qualified to bid on, or be listed in a bid proposal unless currently registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. No bids will be accepted from a Contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with Business and Professions Code Section 7000 and following. The license requirement for this Project is Class A General Engineering Contractor Please direct your questions to Alex Wong at 925/943-5899x2239 or wong@walnut-creek.org. The City of Walnut Creek reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bids. All bids shall be accompanied by cash, a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check payable to the City of Walnut Creek in an amount equal to 10% of the total amount bid. Upon award of the contract, the successful Bidder shall furnish a bond for faithful performance in the amount of 100% of the total bid; the successful Bidder shall also furnish a bond to secure the payment of all claims for labor and material in the amount of 100% of the total bid. The successful Bidder and subcontractors are required to pay for and obtain a City of Walnut Creek Business License. Retention: The Contractor may elect to receive 100% of payments due under the contract from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the public agency, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City or an escrow agent in accordance with Public Contract Code Section 22300. Such securities, if deposited by the Contractor, shall be valued by the City's Administrative Services Director whose decision on valuation of the securities shall be final. The Contractor's attention is called to the Business and Professions Code Section 7108.5, which generally requires subcontractors to be paid not later than seven days after receipt of each progress payment.
