Description of the proposed work: Provide heat pump systems and dedicated outside air unit with all piping, ductwork, controls, etc. for building 2 nursing classrooms Type of Bid: Bids shall be on a lump sum basis. Segregated bids will not be accepted. Bid Security on the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid must accompany each Bid. A certified, cashiers check or a bid bond is acceptable bid security. If a bid bond is used, it shall be written by a surety or insurance company currently on the U.S Department of the Treasury Financial Management service list of approved bonding companies which is published annually in the Federal Register, or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with at least an A-rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Bests Key rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent of policyholders surplus as shown in the A.M. Bests Key Rating Guide (LSA-R.S. 38:2218.C) Bidder shall certify that he is licensed for Category 1, Building Construction or Mechanical Work under the provisions of LSA-R.S.37:2150 et seq. and show his license number on the bid envelope. Except as otherwise noted in LSA-R.S. 37:2163, any bid that does not contain the contractors certification and show the contractors license number on the bid envelope shall automatically be rejected, not read aloud and returned to the Bidder. Any Bidder who submits a bid for a type of construction for which he is not properly licensed shall be acting in violation of LSA-R.S. 37:2163 and shall be subject to all provisions for violations and penalties thereof. Any interested parties may object to the licensing classification of this public project in accordance with LSA-R.S. 37:2163. C The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond guaranteeing faithful performance and a Payment Bond guaranteeing the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the contract. Sureties will be required to meet qualifications set forth in LSA-R.S. 38:2218 and R.S. 38:2219 as applicable, and as set forth in the Contract Documents.
