Renovation of a mixed-use development in El Dorado, Arkansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and office development.
The budget is set at $2,000,000.00. A certified Bid Tabulation will be produced and distributed as quickly as is practical following the bid opening. Plans and Specifications have been prepared by and may be examined at CADM Architecture, Inc., 214 North Washington, Suite 413, El Dorado, Arkansas. A five percent (5%) corporate Bid Bond or a certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall accompany all submitted bids on construction contracts that exceed $20,000.00 in accordance with ACA 22-9-203. Bidders must comply with all requirements ofContractors Licensing Laws ofthe State ofArkansas, Act 150 of 1965, as amended, and Arkansas Code 22- 9-204 section 3.6(a). A Performance and Payment Bond, equal to the amount ofthe contract, and issued by a surety approved by the Owner and authorized to do business hi the State of Arkansas will be required ofthe successful bidder. Pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. 22-9-203, the Owner encourages all small, minority, and women business enterprises to submit bids for capital improvements. Encouragement is also made to all general contractors that in the event they subcontract portions of their work, consideration is given to the identified groups. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities. Proposals which fail to comply fully with any provision of the Plans, Specifications and other Contract Documents will be considered invalid and will not receive consideration. Prime Bidders interested in bidding the Project may obtain from the Architect up to three (3) sets of construction documents at the rate of $100.00 per set. Documents will not be released until payment is received. The amount paid will be refunded to the Prime Bidder, subject to the following conditions: (a) 1.08 1 DEFINITION OF TERMS IFB shall mean Invitation for Bids. The words vendor, bidder, offerer, company, proposer and contractor may be used synonymously in this document. The terms "District" or "Owner" are used interchangeably and refer to the El Dorado Public School District. 1.06 I 2 SUBMISSION OF BID Bids must be submitted using the forms included on or before the date and time specified for bid opening. Late bids will not be considered under any circumstances. Failure to sign the bid may result in disqualification. The person signing the bid should show title or authority to bind his/her firm to a contract Signature must be in ink. Bid must be completed in ink or typed. CONFLICT OF INTEREST By submitting a bid, the contractor represents and warrants that no director, board member or employee ofthe District is in any manner interested directly or indirectly in the bid or contract which may result from the bid or in any of the expected profits which might arise therefrom; further, that no attempt has been made to influence or gain favorable advantage by Invitation to Bid Documents are requested no less than seven (7) calendar days from the scheduled Bid Date. Prime Bidder submits a complete, responsive bid on Bid Date. Documents are returned in good condition to the Architect within ten (10) calendar days of receipt of notification of construction contract award by the Architect. Electronic copies of the construction documents are available via email upon request at no cost. Unless requested otherwise, construction documents will be shipped utilizing UPS Ground. Expedited delivery can be provided utilizing the Bidder's overnight delivery service account information. Prime Bidders obtaining bid documents from sources other than the Architect shall notify the Architect to ensure receipt of any addenda that might be issued.
