The City of Elgin hereby invites bidders for the following: 1. Bid 23-018 "Bid 23-018 Hemmens Exhibition Hall Operable Wall System". The City of Elgin, Illinois invites bids for to furnish and install a Kwik-Wall 3020 Operable Wall System in the Exhibition Hall of The Hemmens Cultural Center. This is considered a "Public Works Project" and is subject to the requirements of the prevailing wage act and the responsible bidder's ordinance including documentation of apprenticeship program to be provided with bid documents. Question Cutoff Date: 2/17/2023 04:00 PM (ET) PROJECT CONCEPT: o Replace existing Hufcor panel wall (see photos) with tracked ceiling mounted wall system. o Installed wall will split room in half, north and south, with two single pass doors. o 17 to 18 of the wall panels will store on separate tracks along the east and north walls of the room, as close to the wall as the track allows (see Diagram). o 2 to 3 of the western most panels will stack along the west wall of the room(see Diagram). ROOM DIMENSIONS: o Length of wall section is approximately 80' o Height of ceiling is approximately 10' o Length of north wall storage area is approximately 42' o Length of east wall storage area is approximately 69' PROJECT SCOPE: Provide all labor, equipment and materials required to successfully complete the installation of a Kwik-Wall 3020 Operable Wall System in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications including, but not limited to: o Furnish necessary labor and equipment to install Operable Partition Track, threaded rod supports and hardware to existing concrete structure. o Furnish necessary labor and equipment to install Operable Partition panels, level and adjust for proper operation. o Include freight, unloading and distribution of material and equipment into building
