Site work and paving for a road / highway in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

A timeline or award has not yet been established.**   The project consists of the construction of a new hot mix asphalt sidewalk along the western side of Fiske Street and portions of the northern side of Andover Street in the Town of Tewksbury, MA. The work in this Contract includes, but is not limited to, excavation and site leveling, sidewalk, driveway, and wheelchair ramp construction, installation of curbing, pavement markings, sign installation and adjustment, drainage structure and pipe installation, grading, adjustment of fencing, mailboxes, and retaining walls, erosion controls, and tree protection. The project also includes relocation of utility poles which is not a part of this contract. The Town of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, acting through its Department of Public Works invites sealed bids for "Town of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, "Fiske Street Sidewalk Improvements," Contract No."PW-23-09", in accordance with the Contract Documents prepared by BETA GROUP, INC., Consulting Engineers, 315 Norwood Park South, Norwood, Massachusetts, 02062. The location, general characteristics, and principal details of the Work are indicated in a set of drawings, entitled "Town of Tewksbury, Massachusetts , Fiske Street Sidewalk Improvements The project consists of the construction of a new hot mix asphalt sidewalk along the western side of Fiske Street and portions of the northern side of Andover Street in the Town of Tewksbury, MA. The work in this Contract includes, but is not limited to, excavation and site leveling, sidewalk, driveway, and wheelchair ramp construction, installation of curbing, pavement markings, sign installation and adjustment, drainage structure and pipe installation, grading, adjustment of fencing, mailboxes, and retaining walls, erosion controls, and tree protection. The project also includes relocation of utility poles which is not a part of this contract. This project is being funded in whole or in part by Chapter 90 funds. To bid on this project, Contractors must be prequalified in accordance with 720 CMR 5.00, Prequalification of Contractors by MassDOT. "Informational Only" copies of the Contract Documents will be available to any individual or firm. Bid Security: Certified, treasurer's or cashier's check or bid bond in the sum of five (5) percent of the Total Bid is required. Direct all inquiries to Dan McCormack, PE, BETA Group, Inc, 781-255-1982 All Bids for this project are subject to applicable bidding laws of Massachusetts, including General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under this Contract as determined by the Department of Labor and Industries under provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 26-27, inclusive, as amended. No Bidder may withdraw their bid within Ninety (90) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The successful Bidder must furnish 100 percent Performance and Labor and Materials Bonds and will be required to execute the Contract Agreement within five (5) days following notification of the acceptance of his Bid. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept any bid, to waive any informality on bids received, and to omit any item or items deemed advisable for the best interests of the OWNER. Bids are subject to Massachusetts-M.G.L. Chapter 30-Section 39M and to Massachusetts minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. Chapter 149- Sections 26 to 27D inclusive. The award of the contract is contingent upon the availability and appropriation of funding by the Town. All costs associated with the preparation of the bids shall be the responsibility of the bidder, regardless of whether or not the Contract is awarded. The successful bidder shall certify that all employees at the worksite will have successfully completed a course in construction safety and health approved by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) that is at least 10 hours in duration at the time the employee begins work and who shall furnish documentation of successful completion of said course with the first certified payroll for each employee. The Owner and Engineer, being considered the sole and only judge, reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to reject, any or all bids, should the Owner deem it to be in the owner's best interest or the public interest to do so. Liquidated Damages for each consecutive calendar day of delay in completion time - $ 1,200.00 To receive consideration, such questions shall be submitted in writing or faxed to the Engineer (for this purpose, BETA Group, Inc., 315 Norwood Park South, Norwood, Massachusetts, 02062, Telephone No. (781) 255-1982, Fax No. (781) 255-1974 at least seven calendar days before the established date for receipt of Bids
