The City of Nitro is seeking proposals from a qualified architectural firm to provide services related to but not limited to the planning, designing, bidding, and construction oversight phases deemed to be in the best interest of the City. The intent is to restore the Nitro Theater to historically preserve the integrity of the property. The deadline for technical questions is Friday, February 18, 2023 at 4:00 pm. Reviewed at Nitro City Council on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 7:00 pm. A Committee will be assigned to review proposals and architectural firms. Project Goal: The City's intent is to retain an architectural firm with the qualifications and staff resources necessary to perform planning, designing, bidding, and construction oversight. The City is looking for a firm with the capability to also provide added value services including, but not limited, to structural engineering, security consultation, technology consultation, interior design, etc. The successful firm will provide services for City of Nitro as outlined below. Requirements for proposal: 1. Provide design development and cost estimation for the remodeling of the Nitro Theater located on 21st Street. Provide bid documents and construction administration assistance for any approved design. 2. Demonstrate a cohesive vision with the design and layout, if only certain portions of the delivered designs are acted upon. 3. Provide three (3) references with photos for similar projects-previous municipal partnerships preferred. The proposer shall demonstrate substantial experience in undertaking and completing the type of work required.
