Renovation of a detention facility in Chesterfield, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 2,420-square-foot, two-story above grade detention facility.

The Scope of this Project includes selective demolition, hazardous materials abatement, handling, and disposal, and construction of new interior office space, including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, communications, and fire alarm, within an existing approximate 2,413 square foot gymnasium space within the secure perimeter of the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility. Also included is the replacement of approximately 2,800 square feet of built-up roofing with new SBS Modified Bitumen roofing over tapered insulation. The various items included in the construction of the new Counseling Offices include the following A. The removal of existing office partitions, rubber gymnasium floor covering, doors and hardware where indicated, and masonry wall construction where indicated. B. The removal of various existing HVAC and Electrical components throughout the Project Area. C. The salvaging of various camera equipment, safety equipment, etc., as scheduled. D. The installation of new metal stud framed conference room partitions with high-impact gypsum board and resilient vinyl wall base. E. Installation of new high-impact steel doors, frames, and hardware at new Conference Rooms. F. Infill of existing exterior wall openings with CMU block to match existing and new exterior stucco exterior finish coating over exterior insulation. G. Removal of existing roof system atop the Counseling Offices and installation of new 3-ply SBS Roof System. H. Installation of new rooftop mounted HVAC unit and exhaust fan atop the Counseling Offices. I. Removal of various hazardous materials as described within the Design Documents. Contract Duration / Work Hours: A. The construction duration for the Project is Three Hundred (300) calendar days from the issuance of the NTP by the State. B. The Project work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM weekdays. No work will be permitted on weekends or State Holidays.
