Reference Number 0000240419 Source ID PP.CO.MB.779467.C81840 Purchase Type Duration: 5 years Bid Intent Not Available Question Acceptance Deadline 2023/02/16 02:00:00 PM CST Questions are submitted online No The WCB requires the Contractor to provide commercial yard care maintenance services (starting at beginning of May and ending at end of October each year, weather permitting) which will include: a) supply & planting of flowers; b) care and maintenance of grass, hedges, and shrubs; c) maintenance and watering of flowers in planter boxes; and d) removal of leaves around building and WCB Parking Lot during the fall season. It is very important that the Contractor does not apply any chemicals during the period that staff are normally working in the building (8:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. excluding weekends and statutory holidays). The WCB encourage a fragrance-free workplace and the safety and comfort of the WCB's staff and it clients is of paramount importance. The seasonal work consists of three (3) periods: a) Spring Clean-Up (start of season in May) - grounds, hedges, and shrubs being power raked, vacuuming the property (including grass around the WCB Parking Lot), performing the first cut and trim of the year; b) Summer Maintenance (June through September) - planting of flowers, weekly maintenance, weed control, grass cutting (including grass around the WCB Parking Lot), trimming hedges and shrubs around the boarder of the premises; and c) Fall Clean-up (end of season in October) - removal of flowers, picking up litter, blowing out and collecting all debris, power raking and vacuuming the property and perform the last cut and trim of the season, including leaf removal twice a week until snowfall. The WCB shall determine which flowers will be planted, in consultation with the Contractor, and shall advise the Contractor of the choices to allow planting to occur in a timely fashion for each season. The Contractor shall be responsible for the purchase and delivery of the flowers and shall be entitled to a mark-up on the cost as per the Fee Schedule. The Contractor must provide a copy of original receipt(s) along with the monthly invoice for reimbursement of these costs. The Services will be performed according to the highest industry accepted standards and in compliance with WCB standards, procedures, policies, and practices. The Services (excluding chemical application) shall normally be performed during Business Hours. However, the WCB may request some of the Services, such as chemical application, to be performed outside Business Hours, as deemed necessary, in the unfettered discretion of the WCB. The Contractor shall not be entitled to charge overtime rates unless specified in the Fee Schedule. The Contractor shall provide a phone number and e-mail for direct contact. It is expected that appropriate service levels will be maintained which include, but are not be limited to, the following: a) Phone call backs within twenty-four (24) hours if phone message left during Business Hours or within the first four (4) Business Hours of the next Business Day if left after Business Hours on a weekend or statutory holiday; and b) E-mail response within twenty-four (24) hours if e-mail sent during Business Hours or within the first (4) Business Hours of the next Business Day if sent after Business Hours on a weekend or statutory holiday. The Proposal should include an overview of the Contractor, including but not limited to, length of time in business, details of similar types of services performed for other clients, and proposed resource(s) being offered, including profiles which highlight the individuals' experience performing similar projects. Even if the Contractor is not required under The Workers Compensation Act to have and maintain workers compensation coverage in Manitoba, the WCB shall require the Contractor to purchase and maintain workers compensation coverage for its workers who will be providing the Services in Manitoba. Vendors must have a representative attend the Compulsory Onsite Visit and have their attendance recorded by the WCB for the Vendor's Proposal to be considered. All attending representatives will be required to sign a "Pledge of Confidentiality & Restriction on the Use of Information" due to possible contact with WCB confidential information during the Compulsory Onsite Visit.
