Site work for a water / sewer project in Uniontown, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The City of Uniontown is now accepting bids on the repair of the sewer line from Pearl and 5th street to Walnut street . The minimum work included in the quote shall include: 3. Contractor shall remove pipe from manhole wall of manhole carefully to minimize disturbance to the existing manhole. 8. Contractor shall provide all excavation, backfill and haul off of excess material. 9. Under existing improved surfaces (Streets, driveways, sidewalks, etc.) contractor shall backfill full depth with compacted DGA to surface elevation. Contractor shall maintain backfilled areas for a period of 60 days grading, filling as required to maintain the existing ground surface elevation. 4. Contractor shall make pipe connections to manhole hole watertight by using core and seal gaskets and or watertight non shrink grout. 5. Contract shall provide all material, labor and equipment to install 346 feet of SDR 35 PVC sanitary sewer pipe installed at the existing slope. (Assumed to be 0.7% from as-built plans) 6. Contractor shall provide 9M stone for bedding, haunching and initial backfill to 12" above the pipe with the installed pipe. The above items should provide for complete replacement of the sewer and get it back operating and vehicular access for drives and roadway afterward. 10. Where sewer main replacement is in lawn areas, backfill may be existing excavated material. Contractor shall maintain backfilled areas for a period of 90 days for settlement and provide grass seed and fertilize per the KYTC Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. 7. Contractor shall provide for 8-6" lateral connections for the main line and reconnect the existing service laterals at the right of way of Pearl Street. Assume 30 feet of 6" schedule for each lateral, (we think this may be too many but want to make sure we have plenty to complete the reconnects) 1 Contractor shall verify all elevations and distances prior to starting work and match existing elevations and slopes as close as possible for the replacement. 9 2. Contractor shall demo and remove the existing pipe and shall do so in a manner as to not damage the existing manholes.
