The Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife is accepting sealed bids for installation of (2) prefabricated steel pedestrian bridges (175'L x 10'W, 90'L x 10'W) with reinforced concrete decks, abutments, and one foundation pier. Installation of 280 linear feet of new pedestrian trails and the installation of crusher fines on top of existing pedestrian trail subgrade is also included. INSTALLATION OF (2) EXISTING PREFABRICATED PEDESTRIAN BRIDGES WITH REINFORCED CONCRETE ABUTMENTS AND PIER, THE INSTALLATION OF NEW PEDESTRIAN TRAILS Service Start : 2/15/2023 Service End : 6/30/2023 This project will install (2) existing, pre-fabricated steel bridges with (2) reinforced concrete abutments with wingwalls and (1) foundation pier. The project also involves the installation of 280 linear feet of new pedestrian trails and the installation of crusher fines on top of the existing pedestrian trail subgrade. The bridges are currently stockpiled at the CPW Maintenance Shop. The first bridge is 175 feet in length by 10 ft wide, and the other bridge is 90 feet in length and 10 ft wide. Both bridges will have a concrete wearing surface. Please see Attachment A in the bid docs for shop drawings for the 175' length bridge and sample installation guide from the bridge manufacturer. Please see Attachment B for the shop drawings for the 90' length bridge. The (2) bridge abutments and (1) foundation pier were designed by the structural engineering consultants, Odisea Engineering. The design is based on the soils investigation performed at the project site. Please reference the soils report in Attachment C of the Bid Documents for soil borings, descriptions of groundwater, etc. Note that groundwater was encountered during the soil borings, and the Contractor may have to perform dewatering. Additionally, the reservoir begins to fill annually in the Spring. Historical reservoir elevations at the USGS Streamgage 09129550 are provided in Attachment D in the bid documents. The historical elevations are located on the USGS Site (link below). Note the elevations are referenced to NGVD 29 and will require conversion to the elevations shown on the plans, which are referenced to NAVD 88. Also note that CPW Park Staff estimates that given the current site conditions, water elevations in the reservoir may reach the elevation of 6,549 ft NAVD88 by June 1. This is only a rough estimation and actual site conditions may vary significantly from this estimation. It is the responsibility of the contractor to estimate reservoir water levels and conditions for construction. Questions due by Tuesday, February 14 at 10:00 am.
