The project would rehabilitate approximately 8,424 linear feet (LF) (1.60 miles) of existing 8 inch diameter sewer mains with trenchless technology and replace in place approximately 210 LF (0.04 miles) of existing 8-inch diameter sewer main via open trench construction methods. Excavation for sewer main and manhole replacement would occur at the same depth as existing utilities. The project would also rehabilitate and reconnect existing sewer laterals and cleanouts at property line, install point repairs, rehabilitate existing manholes, repair existing sewer manholes, replace-in-place one sewer manhole, and construct new sewer main cleanouts. Sewer main replacement will require removal of one tree within a city easement. Excavation for utility replacement within the City's paved right of way will occur within previously disturbed right of way. Excavation within easements will occur within previously disturbed soil. ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: The City's estimated construction cost for this project is $2,770,000. Bid Security shall be in one of the following forms: a cashier's check, or a properly certified check upon some responsible bank; or an approved corporate surety bond payable to the City of San Diego for an amount of not less than 10% of the total bid amount.
