As of July 13, 2023, a consultant has been awarded to provide commissioning services. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Colorado School of Mines (Mines) is seeking services of a qualified Commissioning team to support the design and construction of the C+PKII (Classroom + Parking Garage II) project. The new build will be ~50,000 GSF Classroom-Office building and a ~266,000 GSF six story parking garage on the Mines Campus. Mines will consider and evaluate submittals describing qualifications of Commissioning teams with relevant experience and the ability to support the schedule, using Appendix A and A1 score sheets from this RFQ and attached below for reference. Approximate construction cost is $64 million. The initial scope would be to provide a thorough review of design documents and to provide design input. The intent is to achieve LEED gold and Mines will require an Enhanced Commissioning effort. The selected firm will also be contracted as the Commissioning Agent during construction. Colorado School of Mines is currently using the SkySpark continuous commissioning tool with Tridium building management system on campus. In addition to traditional commissioning services of mechanical systems, this project will require commissioning on the building envelope. The RFQ package should address the team's approach to this specialty service. This will be a 2-step process: prequalification resulting in a short list of firms to be invited back for interviewing; interview evaluations for selection of successful firm.
