Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Chicago, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Construction Services for O'Hare Line - Harlem Station - Bus Bridge Reconstruction The Work to be performed includes but is not limited to. The Work includes the following, which may or may not be a complete list: Remove and reconstruct the existing bridge structure with a new superstructure galvanized steel and bearing assemblies, concrete bridge deck, concrete sidewalks, approach slabs, curb and gutters, drainage, expansion joint assemblies and metal guard rails. Remove and reconstruct canopy; the limits are from the north end of the canopy to the closest canopy structure splice south of the bridge expansion joint. The work will include new galvanized steel canopy structure, roofing, drainage, LED lighting, security cameras, painting and signage. Provide bridge substructure work including concrete repairs to the north and south abutments consisting of rebar, crack injection, and spalling concrete repairs. Remove the existing south reinforced concrete pier and cap down to one foot below grade. South reinforced concrete pier will not be reconstructed. Remove protective shields at underside of bridge structure. Remove bird feces at underside of bridge required for shield removal in accordance with environmental remediation requirements. Provide any required hazard reports associated with this work. Provide temporary construction partition wall at the bridge station entrance. Provide temporary overhead pedestrian protection at platform level. Remove and replace bus stop, to train and no parking signage located on the bus bridge deck. Remove and replace station signage located at platform level attached to the underside of the bridge structure. Signage to be replaced in-kind Remove and replace with galvanized metal guard rails at bridge-level. Remove and replace concrete parapet walls (include IDOT type galvanized fencing), sidewalk, trash enclosures, pedestrian shelters, electrical / LED lighting, signage, pavement stripping, and curb lane painting. Any contract resulting from this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The contractor will be required to furnish certified copies of any and all Insurance Policies required in relation to this contract prior to CTA's execution. Chicago Transit Authority hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. PLEASE NOTE: The right is reserved to accept any bid or any part or parts thereof or to reject any and all bids. As of May 11, 2023, the bid date has been extended via Addendum 1.
