Site work for a bridge / tunnel in New Orleans, Louisiana. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

for Work Order No. 1-1072, Inner Harbor Navigation Canal, St. Claude Avenue Bridge, Replacement of Operating Strut Rollers. The work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials (except as explicitly stated as provided by the Board) for replacing the lower operating strut guide roller assemblies on the St. Claude Avenue Bridge, and for removing the operating strut bottom flange strap plates, as per the drawings and specifications provided in this bid document. The Contractor will have the option of performing the work with the bridge in the "fully raised" or "fully lowered" position, and allowable bridge closure periods vary based on the option selected. The site is located at the St. Claude Avenue Bridge over the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal in New Orleans, Louisiana. The estimated cost for the project is $350,000 to $450,000. All Bids must be in accordance with the Bidding Documents on file with the Port of New Orleans. If request for contract documents is made through U.S. mail or other delivery services, bidder must furnish a street mailing address and will be held responsible for service fees. Pre-Bid conference attendees should bring their own PPE including, at minimum, the following: hard hat, traffic safety vest, and gloves for anyone wishing to climb onto the bridge to view the work areas. Video conferencing will not be provided for the pre-bid meeting. Attendees will meet in the parking area near the bridge house on the east side of the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal, and parking is very limited. Board-provided spare operating strut guide housings will be available for viewing at the pre-bid meeting; bidders may schedule time after the pre-bid meeting to take detailed measurements of the spare parts, or they may schedule a separate visit to the Board's warehouse at 4625 N. Galvez Street, by contacting Randy Songy at: randy.songy@portnola.com. Federal regulations require that persons seeking entry to secure areas of United States ports must present a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card and must maintain possession of the TWIC card at all times in secure port areas. The St. Claude Avenue Bridge site is not a secure port area and TWIC cards are not required for this project. Proposal forms will be issued only to those contractors complying with state licensing laws for contractors, La. R.S. 37:2163. On any bid submitted in the amount of $50,000 or more, the contractor must hold at the time this bid is opened a valid license issued by the Louisiana Licensing Board for Contractors. This project is classified as Highway, Street and Bridge Construction. Objection to the required classification should be filed in accordance with La. R.S. 37:2163 as stated by the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors. The bid bond must be furnished in accordance with the requirements of La. R.S. 38:2218, and the performance bond in accordance with the provisions of La. R.S. 38:2219. Work in the amount of at least 60 percent (60%) of total amount of contract as awarded shall be performed by contractor at the construction site or within his own shop, plant, or yard with his own employees. In order to comply with the Constitution of the State of Louisiana, such certification programs must be race and gender neutral.
