The County of Northampton, Virginia is accepting bids from qualified contractors for the replacement of vinyl composition tile (VCT) flooring, including moisture mitigation at the Northampton County Social Services Building. The County of Northampton, Virginia is accepting bids from qualified contractors for the replacement of vinyl composition tile (VCT) flooring at the Northampton County Social Services Building located at 5265 The Hornes, Eastville, VA 23347 Questions may be directed to Chris Thomas, Director of Public Works, at cthomas@co.northampton.va.us or 757-678-3377. The successful vendor will be responsible the replacement of various areas of VCT flooring throughout the building with the application of a moisture mitigation system, including, but not limited to the following: -Completely remove existing VCT flooring down to the bare concrete slab from all areas highlighted in blue on the attached floor plan, including all existing wall base. Dispose of all removed flooring in owner supplied dumpster. o The flooring in the following areas shall be removed and replaced: - Room 134 - Women's Restroom -Room 135 - Men's Restroom - Room 139 - Vestibule -Room 143 - Kitchen - Room 147 - Lobby (Back Side Only) - Room 152 - Telephone/Data - Room 153 - Toilet - Room 154 - Toilet - Room 164 - Staff Lounge - Room 169 - Corridor E - Room 172 - Food Pantry - Room 179 - Storage - Prepare the concrete slab surface according to manufacturer's recommendations and apply a commercial grade two-part epoxy moisture sealing-resistant coating to all concrete slab areas where flooring was removed. Preparation of the concrete slab shall include all work (grinding, smoothing, etc.) as required by the moisture mitigation manufacturer's recommendations. - Prepare floor for installation of new VCT flooring in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. -Install new VCT (12'x12' Armstrong Standard Excelon, or equal). Colors shall be selected by Owner. Existing floor tile patterns shall be reproduced. - Completely remove existing carpet down to the bare concrete slab from the area highlighted in yellow on the attached floor plan, including all existing wall base (Lobby area between Receptionist & Vestibule). Dispose of all removed flooring in owner supplied dumpster. - Prepare slab and apply moisture mitigation system similar to that specified for the VCT areas. - Prepare floor and install VCT where previous carpet was installed. - Install 4" vinyl cove base in all areas where flooring was replaced. - Contractor shall NOT be responsible for moving any furniture, equipment, appliances, etc. Owner will clear the floor area as needed. - All demolition work and moisture mitigation application shall be done after hours (MondayFriday, 5 PM to 5 AM or any time on weekends). Installation of new floor tile may be done during regular business hours *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
