In general, the Base Bid Work involves construction of 2,465 feet of 10-inch diameter sewer pipe, 1,450 feet of 12-inch diameter sewer pipe, and 301 feet of 18-inch diameter sewer pipe. Approximately 3,423 feet of pipe will be installed using pipe bursting methods. Work will also include installation of five new manholes, installation of one cleanout, and the coating of four manholes. The estimated opinion of probable construction cost for this Base Bid Work is approximately $3,200,000. Each bid shall be accompanied by cash, certified or cashier's check, or bidder's bond for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid, made payable to the City of Grover Beach. This Work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of ONE HUNDRED AND TEN (110) WORKING DAYS beginning on the 30 th calendar day after approval of the Contract. The City will issue a Notice to Proceed that reflects this duration for Contract time. The Contractor shall pay to the City of Grover Beach liquidated damages in the sum of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) per day, for each and every calendar days delay completing the work of improvements in excess of the number of working days prescribed above through the Contract acceptance date. The right is reserved by the City of Grover Beach to reject any or all bids, to evaluate the bids submitted, and award the Contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The City further reserves the right to waive any informalities or minor irregularities in the bid.
