Milling and overlay of approximately 20,000 square yards of Borough Roads General Description of Work to be Done B.1.1 This project consists of the milling and paving and overlay of a number of Borough streets. a. The Contractor shall be required to mill 1-1/2 or 2 -1/2 or 3-1/2 inches of asphalt for six streets in the Borough. Milling and overlay shall be for Center Ave from Oakwood to Brightwood, Arden Alley off of Ridgewood, Norval Alley/Farley Park, Bryant Alley between Montclair and Jamacia, 7 th Alley between Amherst and Princeton, and Glenmore Avenue from Rochester Road to Ashford Avenue. For Center Avenue, the contractor shall be required to mill 2-1/2 inches of asphalt and place 2 1/2 inches of wearing. For Glenmore Avenue, the contractor shall be required to mill 3-1/2 inches, place 2 inches of binder and 1-1/2 inches of wearing. For all other streets, contractor shall be required to mill 1 1/2 inches and install 1 1/2 inches of wearing. After completion of paving, the Contractor shall be required to repaint all stop bars and other street markings that existed prior to milling. The cost for all street marking painting shall be considered incidental to the Contract. The Contractor will be responsible for all costs associated with the Maintenance and Protection of Traffic. b. The majority of the millings shall remain the property of the Contractor. The Borough will want between 2 and 5 truckloads delivered to the Borough yard. c. The Borough reserves the right to adjust the Borough streets within the project. The contractor will not be permitted to adjust pricing based on any adjustment in streets. B.2 Location of Work B.2.1 All work to be one under this Contract is located in the Borough of West View, Allegheny County, PA.
