Renovation of a mixed-use development in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and office development.

BID REQUIREMENTS: 1. One million dollars minimum liability insurance coverage. 2. It is the responsibility of the bidder to determine measurements and inspect conditions that might affect the scope of work. 3. Bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid with the bid packet, if the bid amount exceeds $25,000.00. 4. The bidder shall strictly follow the provisions of TCA 62-6-119. TCA 62-6-119 states that: Any person or entity involved in the preparation of the invitation to bid or comparable bid documents shall direct that the name, license number, expiration date thereof, and license classification of the contractors applying to bid for the prime contract and for the electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contracts, appear on the outside of the envelope containing the bid except when the bid is in an amount less than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000). When the bid is less than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000), the name of the contractor only may appear on the outside of the envelope containing the bid, and upon opening the envelope, if such bid is in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000), the same shall automatically be disqualified. Only one (1) contractor in each classification may be listed. Prime contractor bidders who are to perform the electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning must be so designated upon the outside of the envelope. Failure of any bidder to comply therewith shall void such bid and the envelope containing such bid shall not be opened or considered. It is the duty and responsibility of the awarding person or entity that received the envelope containing the bid to verify only the completeness of the required licensure information prior to the opening of the envelope. Prior to the opening of the envelope, the names of all contractors listed thereon shall be read aloud at the official bid opening incorporated into the bid. Prior to awarding a contract, the awarding person or entity and its authorized representatives shall verify the accuracy, correctness and completeness of the information required hereby. The failure of any bidder to comply with all of the provisions hereof shall automatically disqualify such bid. 5. Workman's compensation insurance as required by the labor laws of Tennessee. 6. Complete and return the attached Affidavit for Drug-Free Workplace per T.C.A. 50-9-113. BID SPECIFICATIONS: Contractor is responsible for the following: o Measuring area and space for materials needed to complete the job o Remove and replace carpet tiles, LVT, and cove base at Rutherford County Central Office except RCS Server Room. o Flooring specifications are attached for carpet and LVT. Material must meet be equal to or better than to be an approved alternate. o Bidder responsible for moving furniture and resetting back the exact same way o Bidder to exercise caution when detaching and resetting furniture and equipment in office spaces during removal and replacement of floor covering. Any damages to property will be responsibility of Bidder to pay for. o Exit access, capacity, and fire protection is to be maintained at all times o In areas to receive new floor finishes, remove existing floor and remove all glue and prep surface prior to application of new adhesive. If floor is not prepped as described above and a failure occurs it will be Bidder's responsibility to repair areas which may include purchasing new materials for the repairs. o Bidder to coordinate with facility to determine time frames for access to for complete installation. Work can be completed during the months of June and July for 10-month employee locations in the building. All other times will have to be either after 4:30 P.M. to 8:00 A.M. or weekends. Office will have to be back in working order by 8 A.M. o Bidder is responsible for moving, relocating, or storing contents inside office. If contractor prefers to move contents out, storage containers will be the responsibility of the bidder. o Bidder is responsible for disposal of all demolished materials removed from facility. This includes but not limited to all demolished materials, waste, and trash. This should include the cost for dumpsters utilized during project. Placement of dumpsters should be decided by Bidder and RCS representative. o Flooring materials to be installed according to drawings o Bidder and Owner Rep to determine the phases for installation throughout building
