Submit all questions regarding this RFP in writing to anthony.cowden@cincinnatistate.edu by Thursday February, 23 no later than 2:00 pm with the project name included in the subject line. Questions will be answered and posted on the College website prior to the response date. The following required building work has been identified by the State of Ohio elevator inspector during the site visit on January 18, 2023: Machine Room o Install a new 110V disconnect with pipe and wire connection to the new elevator controller to supply the dedicated service for cab lighting. o Install additional machine room lighting, at a minimum one (1) additional 4-foot light fixture, located to illuminate the new elevator controller. o Install new GFCI duplex outlet on a dedicated circuit. o Install a new smoke and heat detector as required to interface with the building fire alarm system. o install the required elevator emergency fire service interface control, including three (3) new contacts. (Fire Service Phase I, Fire Service Phase II, Machine Room detector) o Install HVAC climate control in the machine room (mini-split system, etc.) to provide temperature control for the room in accordance with the requirements of the new elevator control equipment. o Remove, enclose, or install a drain pain under the existing building drain pipes that are located within the machine room. Elevator Pit o Furnish and install a new GFCI duplex outlet, 4' light fixture, and light switch on dedicated circuits as required. o Furnish and install a dedicated circuit for a new surface mount sump pump. To be verified once the elevator is raised to provide pit access. o Furnish and install a surface mount sump pump with pipe routed to a location as confirmed by the Building Owner. To be verified once the elevator is raised to provide pit access. Elevator Hoistway o Install new heat and smoke detectors at the top of the hoistway. Elevator Lobby o Interface the existing Lobby smoke detectors at all floors to the existing building fire protections system as required to operate with the new elevator Emergency Fire Service Operation. o Please note that there is a tall ceiling height at the upper floor, that elevates the existing smoke detector to a considerable distance from the elevator entrance. The Inspector advised that further investigation was required to verify that the height of this smoke detector was following current code requirements. This issue will require a follow-up verification from elevator inspection authority. This summary of building related work has been identified by the State Inspector, John Beckman. A disclaimer was provided that the final building related scope of work would be reviewed and confirmed by the elevator inspection supervisor, and that the inspection authority reserved the right to modify this scope as necessary.
