Saving Project...

Site work and renovation of a civil project in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The City of Winston-Salem has determined it necessary to rehabilitate the existing IQ North District Stormwater Management Facility. The SWM facility was completed in 2013 and contains the Bath Branch SWM Pond and the Central District Stormwater Management Dam. The purpose of this facility is to contain peak discharges, provide water quality treatment and to protect surface waters from contamination. The scope of the rehabilitation work will include three primary objectives. The first objective requires removing accumulated debris from pre-treatment vaults #1 and #2. The second objective will require the removal of heavy vegetation on the slopes of the SWM facility. New aquatic and/or other permanent vegetation shall then be established throughout the facility in accordance with State requirements. The third objective shall be to repair the erosion and undermining of the concrete slab and articulated concrete block structures at the forebay and dam containment areas. A comprehensive breakdown of the work required for this project is included by way of the attached Exhibit, based upon the previously completed evaluation of the target structure by Wake Forest University. The scope of the project will include limited geotechnical investigations to determine the stability of soils and gain information of subsurface conditions, erosion control plans, construction/maintenance access and drainage design, acquiring necessary environmental and regulatory permits, necessary utility conflict plans, and preparation of construction specifications and cost estimates. The plans for the work listed above shall be prepared in an electronic format. As-built drawings and existing survey information shall be provided to the selected candidate firm post-award. The selected firm must have a good working knowledge of municipal stormwater management and a project history addressing the construction and rehabilitation of stormwater control mechanisms addressing both water quantity and quality mitigation. The selected firm will report directly to the City of Winston-Salem and will provide all designs and documents necessary for permitting, easement acquisition, and construction for the chosen alternative. The selected firm will also likely provide construction administration on this project. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time
