As of June 30 2023, the project has been awarded. A timeline for construction has not been confirmed. For furnishing all the labor, materials, equipment, and doing all the work necessary for the construction and completion of the Defense and Arrest Training Facility Addition located at 1100 Read Road. Base bid will include approximately 2,200 square feet of new construction and minor renovations to portions of the existing facility. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: excavation/ sitework, cast-in-place concrete, reinforced concrete, standard wood trusses and sheathing, shingles, metal fabrications, masonry, aluminum doors and windows, hollow metal doors/ frames, painting, finishes, mechanical, electrical, and others. The base bid shall be lump sum. Alternative bids may be required. The above Public Work will be let to the lowest responsible bidder and must be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contracts on file with the City Clerk. The determination of the lowest responsible and best bid will be decided by the City Engineer, subject to review by the City Council. The Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids. No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid or a bid bond in equal amount, payable to the City as guaranty that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and performance bond within ten days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to execute such contract and performance bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. If applicable, Federal Davis Bacon wage rates are included in the Contract Documents, as well as on file in the City Clerk's Office.
