The City of South Tucson is soliciting proposals/bids for the repair and replacement of the parking lot asphalt at John Valenzuela Youth Center (JVYC). The existing parking lot is approximately 7,600 square feet (see image 2 in bid document) The project shall include: - Remove existing asphalt and haul off site - Grade and recompact existing base material - Install and compact 2" new hot asphalt - Paint/striping of parking and handicap spots as required with high grade acrylic traffic paint (see image 3) - Provide cones, barricades and traffic control equipment/materials as needed - Site cleanup after completion of project This project is funded by Pima County and the Community Development Block Grant Program and DavisBacon/Prevailing Wage Rates apply. The awarded Contractor shall comply with the minimum wage rates for laborers and mechanics in accordance with the provisions of the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts utilizing the most recent payrates. A mandatory pre-construction meeting with the awarded contractor, City of South Tucson staff, and representatives from Pima County will be required prior to the issuance of any Notice To Proceed for this project. The selected contractor will be expected to work collaboratively with the City of South Tucson and shall have experience in the applicable trade/s as it relates to the scope of work, follow applicable local, state, and federal codes. The awarded contractor must be licensed, bonded, and insured (professional liability / workers compensation) and must provide proof of such, as well as secure a City of South Tucson business license. The City of South Tucson reserves the right to accept the lowest, responsive bid; to consider alternatives; or reject any or all bids; and to waive irregularities or informalities in a bid and to accept the bid which is in the City of South Tucson's best interest.
