Renovation of a municipal facility in Northampton, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The Franklin Regional Council of Governments will accept sealed bids on behalf of the Town of New Salem for the SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF A 38KW PROPANE GENERATOR at the New Salem Fire Station, located at 33 New South St., New Salem, MA per the specifications. The project is funded by ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds. In case of inclement weather, the Snow Date is February 23, 2023 at 10AM. Registered planholders will be notified by 3PM on February 21 of any change in the meeting date and time. No bidder unrepresented at the pre-bid meeting will be eligible to bid. Arriving more than 10 minutes late to the meeting may be reason to disqualify. Snow date, if needed February 23, 2023 - 10AM Notice of Award March 30, 2023 The Town of New Salem is seeking bids for the supply and installation of a new single phase Propane Generator at the town's Fire Station, located at 33 South Main Street, New Salem, MA. This will replace an older and smaller generator, which requires removal as part of this project. An area behind the Fire Department will require excavation and trenching to accommodate a new reinforced concrete pad on which to place a new 38 KW propane Generator. The Town requires that this work be completed by the awarded Contractor while the generator equipment is on order. Contractor will provide a blueprint for the concrete slab to the Town no later than 10 days from notification of Award. The blueprint must also include the suggested placement of bollards to protect the new generator and propane tank from vehicles. Contractor will be responsible for purchase and installation of bollards. The current breaker panels are original to the building and new panels will be required. Contractor shall remove and dispose of old panels. A Mass licensed electrician will be required to install new electric panels appropriate to the needs of the new generator. Contractor will be responsible for electrical hook ups, and gas hook-up other than what will be completed by a propane tank installer. A new propane tank will be purchased by the Town. Installation of the propane tank is to be coordinated by the awarded Contractor in consultation with the propane tank installer, the gas company, and the Town. This work will be completed while the generator is on order. Work must be completed by State of MA licensed, certified, and skilled tradespeople. See section 2 for additional specifications and images Question Deadline Feb 28, 2023 at 4:00 PM (Email questions to ebatchelder@frcog.org) The Generator must: - Be an air cooled, propane fueled, standby generator - Include a 200 amp Automatic Transfer Switch - Be 38KW to handle the entire electrical load of the New Salem Fire Station. Must be able to provide clean power suitable for sensitive electronic equipment.
