For the Renovations to Athens Elementary School and Spanishburg Elementary School Deadline for Bidder's questions is 12:00 noon on February 23, 2023. Submit questions by email only to nhs@zmm.com. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, made payable to the Owner, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Each Bidder must be registered with the West Virginia Department of Tax and Revenue prior to the time and date for Receipt of Bids in order for his Bid to be considered. Each Bidder's registration certificate number shall be written in the space provided on the Form of Proposal. All bidders are required to be licensed to perform work in the State prior to submitting a bid for this project as required by Chapter 21, Article 11, of the Code of West Virginia. Each Bidder's Contractor license number shall be written in the space provided on the Form of Proposal. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, the right to waive minor informalities and procedures in bidding, and the right to withhold final award of contract for 30 days after opening bids. The bidder to whom the contract is awarded shall execute and deliver to the Owner within 10 days after the award, and before signing the contract, a Performance Bond and Payment Bond utilizing the bond forms bound in the Project Manual each in a penal sum equal to at least the contract sum and the cost of such bonds shall be included in the bid. Renovations to Athens Elementary School. a. Location: 205 South State Street, Athens, West Virginia 24712. 2. Renovations to Spanishburg Elementary School. a. Location: 8544 Beckley Road, Spanishburg, West Virginia 25922 . Athens Elementary School and Spanishburg Elementary School renovations include, but are not limited to, the following as indicated on the Drawings: a. Selective demolition and reconstruction of interior and exterior building construction including floors, walls, ceilings, and roof. b. Replacement of exterior doors and windows with aluminum storefront entrances, fixed storefront glazing with operable sashes where indicated and new steel doors and frames. c. Installation of insulated metal panels integrated with aluminum replacement windows. d. Insulated metal framing infill in exterior walls where indicated. e. Protection of existing construction and equipment to remain. f. Provision of new interior construction including metal-framed gypsum board partition walls, new doors, new suspended acoustical panel ceilings where indicated, and room finishes. g. Coordination with remedial roof patching to be performed by Owner. h. Installation of interior-mounted and exterior-mounted HVAC units along exterior walls with through-wall sleeves connected to new wall louvers as indicated. i. New roof top HVAC equipment and associated air distribution systems. j. Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical modifications and improvements required for the new air handling equipment. k. New electrical power distribution panels, circuits, and Overcurrent protection. l. Total clean-up of all areas affected by the work of this project. This project will include renovations to both school facilities and bids will be taken for a singleprime construction contract for each school facility as well as a combined bid for both school facilities
