Renovation of a municipal facility in Greensboro, North Carolina. Working plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The base bid work will include but not limited to selective demolition, relocating existing plumbing fixtures and bathroom accessories, installation of new toilet partitions and urinal screens, installation of new grab bars, and re-installation of plumbing fixtures at new locations. The work requires the contractor to furnish all labor and material for the demolition, reconfiguration of the toilet rooms, and re-installation of all fixtures in accordance with the attached scope of work and specifications included in this bid package. All bidders are encouraged to visit the site and familiarize themselves with the work location. Bidders may contact Mary Stonaker at 336-430-0446 or mary.stonaker@greensboro-nc.gov to schedule a time to meet at the building if you cannot make the Pre-Bid meeting. Bids will be received by single prime format, by general contractors for all work. All proposals shall be based on a stipulated sum basis. Segregated bids will not be accepted. All proposals shall include the cost of all state and local sales and use taxes. There will be a Bid Security required with each Bid. There will be a Performance or Payment Bond required for this project. All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license under the state laws governing their respective trades. General Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 1, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding general contracts. General contractors submitting bids on this project must have license classification for general construction (as set forth the license classification required under G.S. 87-1). Electrical Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 4, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding electrical contracts . Each proposal must be accompanied by the documentation required by the City of Greensboro's Minority and Women's Business Enterprise program included in the project manual. Failure to include such documentation is grounds for rejection of the bid proposal. This is a bifurcated bid process. Therefore, the Proposal and the M/WBE Documentation shall be enclosed in two different sealed envelopes. The outside of each envelope shall be plainly marked with the Project Name; Contract Number; the name, address and license number of the Bidder; and the notation "BID ENCLOSED" on the envelope containing the Proposal and the other envelop with the M/WBE Affidavits and Good Faith Efforts noted as "M/WBE DOCUMENTATION". Any subcontracting opportunities offered or awarded shall be documented on the appropriate forms enclosed in the Project Manual and submitted with the BID. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids, except under the provisions of General Statute 143-129.1, for a period of sixty (60) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities that are deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Greensboro.
