As of December 4, 2024, this project was for design only and has now been completed. The Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Wildlife (Colorado Parks and Wildlife; CPW) is seeking a qualified firm (consultant) to provide comprehensive design and construction bidding documents for the removal of the existing low-head dam diversion structure located on the Arkansas River that historically diverted surface water to the Mount Shavano State Fish Unit. The work shall be broken out into three phases: Phase 1, Final Design, Phase 2, Bidding Services, and Phase 3, Construction Support Services. The award of the Project contract will be qualifications-based, pursuant to C.R.S. 24-30-1403. Work under this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is considered a follow up to the Mount Shavano State Fish Unit Arkansas River Diversion Removal and Restoration preliminary design project, completed in December 2021. The purpose of the final design is to finalize the preliminary design and develop the documents necessary to bid the project for construction. Week of March 13, 2023 (Tentative) (If Necessary) Interview shortlisted firms. The short-listed firms will be notified of the location and format. Week of March 20, 2023 (Tentative) Selection of top firm. Week of March 27, 2023 (Tentative) Contract negotiations. April 20, 2023 Anticipated Notice to Proceed after contract review/approval. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
