The Coffee County Board of Education is requesting sealed bids for a roofing project at Zion Chapel School: Reroof the following building numbers: 25, 30, 35, 40 Repair & patch the following building numbers: 5, 45, 50 40-year Architectural Shingle - 25-year non-prorated warranty covering materials and labor repair or replacement - 15-year algae discoloration warranty - 15-year wind warranty to resist blow-off or damage up to 130 mph - Acceptable manufacturers are GAF, Owens-Corning (durations series), Tamko, Certainteed, etc... Each bidder is to submit, as part of their bid, a complete breakdown of the roofing system they intend to install All bidders are to include five-year warranty for weather-tightness and MFG warranty for 40 years. The successful Contractor is required to provide these written and executed warranties upon project completion. Each bidder is responsible for providing the required insurances and license required to perform work on a school site Each bidder is to submit a combined total price. It is also required to provide supplemental pages of a pricing break down per building receiving new work as required by BOE insurance carriers Provide complete tear off of existing roofing down to decking. Contact the BOE if any damaged decking is discovered prior to replacing Provide unit prices as follows; Remove and replace of 100 SF of plywood decking Removed and replace 100 LF of 3/4" deck boards Remove existing and install new eave drip flashings Remove existing and install new pipe boot flashings Removed existing and install new roof to wall flashings Provide new fascia metal and soffit panels where missing to match existing Install new 60 mil ice & water shield as follows; 36" @ roof edges 36" centered on valley, hip and ridges install at all penetrations and curbs Install synthetic vapor barrier over entire roof area Install MFG recommended starters, hip/ridge shingles and hip/ridge vents Fasteners are to be 1 1/4" min. or as recommended by MFG for warranty Nail guns or staples are not to be used Nails are to be hand driven Bidders are responsible for providing gravity venting as required by shingle warranty Bidders are responsible for all removal of debris caused by re-roofing Bid must be submitted on the school system's Bid Proposal Form. To adhere to the Alabama Immigration Law, the following forms must accompany all bids: E-Verify Memorandum of Understanding, Affidavit of Alabama Immigration Compliance, and Alabama Immigration Law Compliance Contract The lowest responsible bid meeting specifications will be presented to the Coffee County Board of Education at the next meeting for consideration and any award. Notification of any award will be provided to the successful low bidder only following Board approval.
