Demolition, site work and addition to an educational facility in Delran, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

Delran Intermediate School 2023 Classroom Additions Bids shall be addressed to the Owner whose name appears in Paragraph 1a of the Instructions to Bidders; they shall be mailed or delivered to the address stated herein, enclosed in an opaque sealed envelope, clearly marked with the name of the Bidder and the name of the Project as described in this Notice to Bidders; and must be received by not later than the time designated in this Notice to Bidders. No responsibility will attach to Architect or Owner for premature opening of a bid which is not properly identified. The Bidders are requested to submit, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-18(b)(2), one Lump Sum Bid for all the work and materials. Bidders and/or their Prime Subcontractors must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) in the following categories, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-26 et seq.: C008 - General Construction or C009 General Construction / Alterations and Additions; C029 - Structural Steel and Ornamental Iron; C032 - HVACR; C030 - Plumbing; and C047 - Electrical. The Bidder and named Prime Subcontractors, defined as those listed in N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-18, listed must be pre-qualified prior to the date that bids are received. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check, bank cashier's check, treasurer's check or Bid Bond in the form provided in the Contract Documents, with corporate surety satisfactory to the Owner, in an amount of 10% of the Base Bid (but in no case in excess of $20,000.00, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-24), naming as payee or obligee, as applicable, Delran Township Board of Education, to be retained and applied by the undersigned as provided in the Contract Documents in case the successful Bidder defaults in executing the Agreement or furnishing the bonds and insurance certificates as required by the Contract Documents. Prospective Bidders are advised that this Project is one which will be subject to and will be governed by provisions of New Jersey law, including, but not limited to, those regarding (a) Prequalification of Bidders (N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-26 et seq.); (b) Prevailing Wage Rates (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq.); (c) Use of Domestic Materials, (N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-20) (d) Ownership Disclosure Certification, (N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2); and (e) Disclosure of investment activities in Iran, Russia, and Belarus (N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-49.4 et seq. & N.J.S.A. 52:32-55 et seq.). The Public Works Contractor Registration Act N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. requires that the Bidder and Named Prime Subcontractors must be registered at the time of Bid. The Owner is requesting that copies of the Certificates be included in the Bidder's Bid Package, but the Bidder must provide copies of the Certificates no later than the time of award. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 all business organizations that do business with a local contracting agency are required to be registered with the State and provide proof of their Registration with the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue before the contracting agency may enter into a contract with the business. In addition, and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-25, each bid must be accompanied by a certificate from a surety company stating it will provide said Bidder with a bond in such sum as required by the above referenced statute. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the dates set for the opening thereof. The right is reserved to reject all bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-22 or to waive minor informalities or non-material exceptions. Bidders are required to comply with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq. Tuesday 02/28/23 Deadline for Questions at 5:00 P.M. Thursday 03/02/23 Addendum Sent to Bidders, if necessary The Work consists of classroom additions including, but not limited to: (see the construction documents for details): 1. Work includes the construction of four (4) separate additions to the existing school. Construction of three (3) 3 additions is to take place in Phase 1 with the remaining addition construction to begin once Phase 1 is completed and occupiable. 2. General construction consists of loadbearing masonry exterior walls with brick veneer and steel bar joist with metal deck roof structure. Roofing material to be EPDM. 3. Phase 1 work is to include the following: a. Construction of a 4,386 square foot classroom addition consisting of 4 classrooms, an electric room and storage room. Mechanical equipment consists of (1) roof top unit with variable air volume distribution. Hot water baseboard supplemental heating is to be included. Renovation work is limited to areas immediately adjacent to addition and extending electrical and mechanical lines from and through the existing building. Electric room will service all classroom additions. b. Construction of a 2,445 square foot classroom addition consisting of 2 classrooms and an egress corridor. Mechanical equipment consists of (2) roof top units to serve all spaces. Hot water baseboard supplemental heating is to be included. Renovation work is limited to areas immediately adjacent to addition and extending electrical and mechanical lines from and through the existing building. c. Construction of an 868 square foot office addition consisting of 2 private offices and a large conference room. Mechanical equipment consists of (1) split system unit with air handler in attic space and condenser on adjacent roof. Hot water baseboard supplemental heating is to be included. Renovation work is limited to areas immediately adjacent to addition and extending electrical and mechanical lines from and through the existing building. d. Site work includes building pads, new underground storm water piping, new sidewalks, and regrading of the immediate area. 4. Phase 2 work is to include the following: a. Construction of a 2,500 square foot classroom addition consisting of 2 classrooms and an egress corridor. Mechanical equipment consists of (2) roof top units to serve all spaces. Hot water baseboard supplemental heating is to be included. Renovation work is limited to areas immediately adjacent to addition and extending electrical and mechanical lines from and through the existing building. b. Site work includes building pads, new underground storm water piping, new sidewalks, and regrading of the immediate area. 5. Replacement of an existing roof mounted chiller shall be included in the work as Alternate #1.
