Request Category Code: inspection Services, Professional Services, Facilities Description: The purpose of the RFP is to select an experienced firm to perform services to create an ADA Transition Plan. The primary purpose of the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) program is to ensure that pedestrians with disabilities have an equal opportunity to use the public rights-of-way in the transportation system. Title II of the ADA provides information stating that State and local government entities cannot discriminate against those with disabilities. The City currently does not have a formal ADA Transition Plan. The overall goal of the ADA Transition Plan is to create a comprehensive long-term plan to guide the City. Additionally, the plan that will meet Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) requirements.
