Huntington County Board of Commissioners will receive sealed bids for the i terns listed below for the Highway Department for the year 2023 in the Commissioners Room, in the Court House, Huntington, Indiana. Item No. 1 - 30,000 tons or 20,000 yards Maintenance Gravel and Sand Item No. 2 - 50,000 tons or less Maintenance Stone and Sand Item No. 3 - Ten or less Complete Poured/ Pre-stressed Concrete Bridges. Item No. 4 - MFBM Pressure Treated Timber Bridge Materials Item No. 5 - Liquid Asphalt Item No. 6 - Liquid Asphalt Emulsion Item No. 7 - Bituminous Coated Aggregate Winter Mixture Item No. 8 - HAC Base, Binder, and Surface; HAE Base, Binder, and Surface and Stockpiled Cold Mixed Bituminous Coated Aggregate Base Specifications for the above i terns may be obtained at the Huntington County Highway Garage. Each item bid must be in a separate envelope, showing the Item Number. All bids shall be submitted in duplicate. Bids shall be submitted on prescribed forms which are obtainable at the Huntington County Auditor's Office. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bidder's Bond or Certified Check in the amount equal to not less than ten percent (10%) of total bid. Bids for petroleum products will not require a bidder's bond. Bid bonds for bridges shall be 10% of 50,000 or $5000. Bidders receiving awards shall furnish approved performance bonds in the amount equal to not less than ten percent (10%) of their bid. Contracts awarded for petroleum products will not require a performance bond. The Huntington County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any and all bids and to waive minor inconsistencies and discrepancies in bids. Current IDOH Standard Specifications are on file in the Huntington County Highway Department and are a part of these specifications where they apply. All bids must include a certification or other such proof that the bidder is in good standing and is authorized to do business in the State of Indiana. In the matter of an Escalator Clause for petroleum products, the Board of Commissioners will consider accepting bids which contain the following clause: Bidder shall have the right to increase the contract unit price in an amount equal to the bidder's increase in costs of materials and supplies occurring subsequent to the date on which such bid is submitted (hereinafter referred to as "base date") to the County. Any increase or decrease in the bidders cost of materials and supplies after the base date shall be determined monthly, and shall be verified by proper documents furnished to the Huntington County Highway which shall include proof of price to the bidder from the bidders source of supply. Unit prices must be existing prices at the date of bid letting. A bid, proposal, or quotation submitted by a trust, as defined in I.C 30-4-2-l(a), must identify each beneficiary of the trust, and settlor empowered to revoke or modify trust.
