Prequalification questionnaires will be received by the university of california, irvine (uci) from general Contractors (GC) wishing to submit bids. Prequalification questionnaires will be accepted from contractors possessing both a current and active general Building (B) license. Plumwood driving simulation lab is a multi-use performance space. It is a combined use classroom that Integrates not only dance classes, but also production technology needs for performances. The scope of work includes renovating rooms 229 and 231 to accommodate a driving simulator room, control Room, offices, and work areas. Work also includes new internal walls and doors, millwork and sink, suspended tbar ceiling, light fixtures and controls, power and data outlets, modifications of the existing hvac, new flooring, Wall base, and paint. The contractor will prepare the room and provide support to install driving simulator Equipment, audio visual, and electronic equipment. Equipment will be supplied and installed by the uci vendor. Estimated contract time: 100 days Project delivery: design-bid-build Prequalification questionnaires will be available electronically at 2:00 pm on tuesday, February 7, 2023 from uci design & construction services Project experience requirements: one (1) institutional or higher education project located in the state of california for Which firm served as the prime contractor and for which the construction cost was at least $700,000. one (1) projects involving soundproofing and noise control for which construction Cost was at least $500,000 each. one (1) project that required sequencing of work to maintain ongoing building or Production operations during construction for which the construction cost was At least $500,000. one (1) project for which your firm self-performed at least 10% of the construction Uci reserves the right to reject any or all responses to this notice, to waive non-material irregularities, and to Deem contractors prequalified for the project. To prequalify, contractors must agree to comply with all conditions Including state prevailing wages, 10% bid bond, 100% payment and performance bonds, and insurance Requirements. The successful contractor will hold current and active general building (b) license. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business Opportunities with the university within the limits imposed by law or university policy. Each bidder may be Required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful bidder and its Subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the bid documents and to Pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the work. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid for this project unless registered with the department of Industrial relations pursuant to california labor code sections 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this Requirement for bid purposes only under labor code section 1771.1(a)]. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded any portion of this project unless registered with the department Of industrial relations pursuant to labor code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the department of industrial relations. The successful bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the uc fair wage (defined as $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with All applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
