As of March 24, 2023, the project has been awarded and notice to proceed was issued April 10, 2023, however, an exact timeline for construction has not been confirmed. Bid documents for the "Navy Base Intermodal Facility Buildings" project in North Charleston, South Carolina, will be available for distribution to qualified bidders by the South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) The project involves constructing an approximate 6,240-SF Administration Building, 832-SF Driver Assistance Building, and four canopy structures All temporary and permanent utility outages, disconnections, and connections shall be closely coordinated with the Owner, Engineer, and Utility Owner. The Contractor shall submit a written request for utility outages and support to facilitate utility connection or disconnection to the Owner, Engineer, and Utility Owner at least seven (7) calendar days in advance of the requested outage, connection, or disconnection date. The request shall include, but not be limited to the following: The location, exact scope of work, impact, time and date of the outage, connection, or disconnection. The contractor shall confirm that all materials and labor are available and that all preparatory work has been completed prior to start of the work. Every effort shall be made to minimize the duration and impacts of outages. In addition, every effort shall be made to schedule power outages during off-peak periods (generally nights and/or weekends).
