Site work and paving for a civil project in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The Project includes the following approximate quantities of Work: Work generally includes grading; placement of water, sanitary, storm utilities; and paving for a 22 acre residential subdivision. The Project includes the following approximate quantities of Work: 15,000 cubic yard (CY) topsoil strip and 92,000 CY of excavation (of which 15,000 CY will be exported to a different site); 5,100 feet (FT) of subdrain and storm sewer (4 inch to 30 inch sizes); 1,400 FT of 12 inch (IN) ductile iron water main; 500 FT of 8 IN ductile iron water main; 1,700 FT of 8 IN sanitary sewer; 17 storm sewer structures and 10 sanitary manholes; and 7,191 square yards (SY) of 7 IN PCC or HMA paving with 6 IN and 12 IN modified subbase and subgrade preparation. Project will be stabilized with placement of 850 tons (T) (total) of riprap, erosion stone, and rock check dams and will be seeded. The Work will be substantially complete on or before October 31, 2024, and will be completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions on or before November 27, 2024. In addition to the required substantial and final completion times, there are milestones by which certain items of work must be completed. See General Requirements for milestone requirements. Milestone 1 Excavation and topsoil export shall be completed before July 1, 2023. Milestone 2 Phase 1 will be completed on or before November 22, 2023. The Bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to OWNER in an amount of 5% of the Bidder's maximum Bid price. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa. In accordance with Iowa Statutes, a resident Bidder shall be allowed a preference as against a nonresident Bidder from a state or foreign country if that state or foreign country gives or requires any preference to Bidders from that state or foreign country, including but not limited to, any preference to Bidders, the imposition of any type of labor force preference, or any other form of preferential treatment to Bidders or laborers from that state or foreign country. The preference allowed shall be equal to the preference given or required by the state or foreign country in which the nonresident Bidder is a resident. In the instance of a resident labor force preference, a nonresident Bidder shall apply the same resident labor force preference to a public improvement in this state as would be required in the construction of a public improvement by the state or foreign country in which the nonresident Bidder is a resident. The City of Iowa Falls reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any technicality, and to accept any Bid which it deems advantageous. All Bids shall remain subject to acceptance for 60 days after the time set for receiving Bids. The Contract Times will commence to run within 30 days after the Effective Date of the Contract or at the end of the Bid acceptance period, whichever is earlier. Contract Award shall be made based on the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder For all further requirements regarding Bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and Contract Award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents.
