The District of Taylor is requesting proposals for the design, supply, delivery and installation of playground structures that are unique, eye catching, aesthetically pleasing and have all inclusive components, including wheelchair accessible playground features, a minimum of one all inclusive swing and an accessible picnic table on an accessible pad. All structures will have accessible base material. The proponent will be required to provide sufficient documentation to define the items being provided in this scope of work. Such documentation must include, but is not limited to, catalogue sheets, general data sheets, coloured 3D drawings and sketches from each side of the proposed structures, layout showing Canada Safety Standards (CSA) compliance, specification, and warranty information. The playground structure (s) will be located in an area approximately 16m x 47m or approximately 750 metres squared. Because the area is undeveloped, proponents are encouraged to design and layout the area as they see fit. The District will complete the required base leveling prior the onset of the project. Provide a layout of playground equipment and ground cover Provide a reasonable mix of elevated and interactive ground-based activities throughout the levels All equipment must be 'accessible' and inclusive and one swing feature must be all inclusive The protective surface is required under the entire playground area Preparation, drainage and excavation of the site is the responsibility of the proponent All equipment and installation must at a minimum meet the CSA Z614-14 Children's Playspaces and Equipment Standard. All locates for work undertaken by the proponent's forces shall be the responsibility of the proponent. Provide the age range for each piece of equipment. The delivery site does not have a loading dock. The proponent will install a ground surface that is firm, stable and has impact attenuating properties for injury prevention and sufficient clearance to provide children and caregivers with various disabilities the ability to move through, in and around the outdoor play space. Proposals should include an estimated timeline of the various stages of installation for the ground cover and equipment.
