Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Completed plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
RFP D/B - Laytonia Recreational Park Storage Building The proposed site for the new structure is at the northern corner of the grassy field located at the southwestern leg of the park. The field is currently used for overflow parking during large events or tournaments. The conversion of the field into a paved parking lot has been studied and may become a future project pending available funding. The new one-story building will be approximately 2,200 SF. The intent is to provide as much storage as possible while working within a 5,000 SF LOD and maximum of 100 cubic yards of excavation. The massing, materials and color selections for the building shall be compatible with the architecture of the existing structures within the park, which prominently feature masonry walls in either stone or CMU.
