Johnson County Stormwater Management Program is beginning a new Pipe Replacement Program. The need county-wide far outstrips available funds and recent changes in the County's Administrative Policies have moved a portion of their flood remediation funds for Capital Improvement Program to the new Pipe Replacement fund. This fund is set up to be a 50:50 cost share. 8 projects were submitted for funding consideration that meet the new program parameters. 51st Place and Monticello (East) is the proposed project for 2025 and includes the replacement of six pipes (728 LF). The City share of this program is funded through the Stormwater Utility fee. Annual, as well as, historic pipe and structure condition inspection data provide the basis for prioritizing repairs. The project is included in the City of Shawnee 2024-2033 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of March 15, 2024, information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed.
